Welcome from the Directors

Χ‘Χ‘Χ΄Χ“

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Camp Gan Israel! We're delighted that you've chosen us for your child's summer adventure. As always, we are planning our camp experience with new activities and exciting programs, promising a summer filled with unforgettable memories.

Our Staff

At the heart of our camp is our dedicated team, who bring a mix of fun, learning, and adventure to each day. From engaging trips and refreshing swimming sessions to a variety of electives and camp-wide activities, there's always something new for your child to enjoy.

Boys Division and Kiddie Camp

Our facilities at the Rabbinical College of America (RCA) will accommodate both the Kiddie Camp and the Boys Division, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our campers. The Kiddie Camp will enjoy water activities on site, while the Boys Division will have swimming on site as well.

Girls' Division

Our Girls' Division runs at the beautiful Sussex Avenue School, with ample space to play and enjoy camp. The Girls' Division will enjoy regular swimming sessions at Morristown High School, with seamless transportation provided.

Safety and Inclusivity

Our top priorities are safety and inclusivity. We create a welcoming environment for Jewish children from all backgrounds, fostering a community of respect and learning. Our sites are secured with professional security guards, and we have an on-site ambulance for immediate medical attention β€” ensuring peace of mind for you and a safe environment for your child.

Your trust in us means the world. We're committed to making this summer not just fun and safe, but a truly memorable journey for your child.

Looking forward to a summer of joy and adventure,

The Camp Gan Israel Morristown Directors

Don't miss camp updates

πŸ“§ Both parents on file?

Many camp accounts list only one parent, so important updates only reach one inbox. If both parents (or another guardian) should be getting camp emails, drop the missing contact below β€” we'll add it to your camp account within 1–2 business days.

Prefer to update yourself? You can also open your camp account and add a second parent under Account β†’ Contacts.

Camp life Everyday Policies

πŸ₯œ

Food Allergy Policy

Camp Gan Israel takes food allergies seriously and works closely with families to support campers with allergy needs.

  • Camp is nut-free. Foods containing peanuts or tree nuts as an ingredient are not served at camp and may not be brought to camp.
  • What "nut-free" does not mean: camp cannot guarantee that foods, vendors, or facilities are completely free from allergen cross-contact. Some packaged foods served at camp may carry a "May Contain" warning or come from facilities that also process nuts or sesame. If your camper cannot have "may contain" items, tell us on the Allergy Information Form and we will plan alternatives for them.
  • Sesame and other allergens may be present at camp.
  • When a camp-provided food isn't safe for a specific camper, we provide an alternative β€” bread, fresh vegetables, and fruit are available every day.
  • Parents must notify camp of any food allergy and complete the Allergy Information Form.
  • Campers with severe allergies requiring emergency medication (such as an EpiPen) must provide the medication and instructions before their first day of camp. We recommend two: one stays at camp, one travels in your camper's backpack.

πŸ₯ͺ

Lunch policy

A hot lunch is served daily (menu below). If your child won't eat the day's lunch, send food from home.

  • Nut-free β€” strictly enforced across camp (see our Food Allergy Policy)
  • No meat-based foods from home
  • Fresh fruit, veggies, bread & spreads available every day
πŸ”

Lost and Found

Misplaced items are collected daily and returned to campers if marked. Children can check lost items at the camp office.

At season's end, all unclaimed items are displayed for campers and parents to pick up.

🌑️

Sickness & Medication

Please keep your child home if they are unwell. If a child needs to leave camp due to illness, we'll contact parents for pick-up.

  • Medications + EpiPens/Auvi-Qs need a doctor's note or emergency plan
  • Stored securely in the director's office
πŸ›‘οΈ

Safety on site

Both camp sites are secured with professional security guards and an on-site ambulance.

  • RCA campus (Boys + Kiddie)
  • Sussex Ave School (Girls)
